Zippo are one of the most famous lighter brands in the world. Founded in 1932 in Bradford, Pennsylvania after George G. Blaisdell watched a friend trying to light a cigar with a very temperamental lighter that took hands to get it lit.
George went home and decided to craft and build a lighter that would work in almost any weather conditions that mother nature could throw at him – the end result, was the world’s first Zippo lighter that went on sale in 1933 (priced at $1.95).
The rest as they say is history. Today Zippo’s are sold in over 160 countries around the globe and come in a multitude of different designs – some designs are only available in set territories, so no matter which countries you go to, you will discover something unique to that country.
On June the 5th 2012, Zippo produced their 500 Millionth lighter – for the launch of our website, we are delighted to release 4 of these commemorative lighters for sale which we held back from when they were first released back in 2012. All 4 are highly collectable.
