On the 1st of October, the Government will hike the duty on tobacco products for all of the UK by a massive 15%. This is without a doubt the biggest duty increase on tobacco ever and certainly the most wide ranged as it on ALL tobacco products, Cigarettes, Hand-Rolling Tobacco, Pipe Tobacco, Cigars (mini’s and hand-rolled) and Vapes.
Unfortunately, there is no way for us as a retailer to circumvent this horrendous increase, and no way for us to absorb it, we will therefore need to put up with it.
My only advice to you would be to purchase your desired cigars and tobacco BEFORE the 1st of October to get them at the cheapest possible price – stock up for Christmas and beyond.
Diplomático Cigars are a relatively young Habanos brand having been established in the 1960s. All of their cigars are medium to full in flavour and are made using tobacco leaves from the famous Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba.
Although the brand has been selected on several occasions for Regional Edition releases, for an extended period, Diplomáticos No. 2 has been the only vitola in the regular portfolio. Cancilleres therefore represents the first addition to the brand’s permanent portfolio in many years.
The size known as Centrofinos in Cuban factories falls within what is commonly referred to as a Robusto vitola.
Presented in the traditional 25 dressed box, Cancilleres takes its name from the highest diplomatic rank, “Canciller”. It is a totally handmade, long-filler cigar that offers an enjoyable smoking time of approximately 40–45 minutes.
