Created as a tribute to founder Sebastien Decoppet’s late father, Pascal, this stunning blend from Cavalier features a reddish-brown Honduran Jamastran Viso wrapper over a Connecticut binder, with a refined filler combination of Nicaraguan Jalapa Viso, Honduran Jamastran Viso, and Paraguayan Viso tobaccos.
This is an elegant 5 x 54 robusto grande that delivers a medium to full-bodied smoking experience over approximately 50 to 65 minutes. It opens with notes of spice, dark cinnamon, oak, and coffee, supported by earth, leather, and cedar. As the cigar develops, flavours transition into dark chocolate, roasted nuts, a touch of pear-like sweetness, and a hint of white pepper on the retrohale, leading to a balanced and subtly fresh finish. Renowned for its impeccable construction, even burn, smooth draw, and generous smoke output, this cigar offers a refined and characterful smoking experience, ideal for those seeking depth, balance, and craftsmanship.
Diplomático Cigars are a relatively young Habanos brand having been established in the 1960s. All of their cigars are medium to full in flavour and are made using tobacco leaves from the famous Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba.
Although the brand has been selected on several occasions for Regional Edition releases, for an extended period, Diplomáticos No. 2 has been the only vitola in the regular portfolio. Cancilleres therefore represents the first addition to the brand’s permanent portfolio in many years.
The size known as Centrofinos in Cuban factories falls within what is commonly referred to as a Robusto vitola.
Presented in the traditional 25 dressed box, Cancilleres takes its name from the highest diplomatic rank, “Canciller”. It is a totally handmade, long-filler cigar that offers an enjoyable smoking time of approximately 40–45 minutes.
