One of the most renowned pipe and tobacco manufacturers in the world. Founded in in Dublin, Ireland in 1874 by Frederick Kapp. Frederick unfortunately passed away in 1891 leaving the company to his two young sons Alfred and Christian.
It was in the 1890’s that Charles Peterson (who was the highly skilled chief pipe maker in the company) along with Alfred bought out Christians’ share thus leading the way for him to eventually own the company.
These days the Peterson tobaccos are made by Scandinavian tobacco in Denmark to the original Peterson recipes. Scandinavian tobacco also owns the recipes for the old Dunhill pipe tobaccos, which were taken off sale in 2014 as part of Dunhill’s world wide cull of tobacco from it’s portfolio. These ex-Dunhill tobaccos are now to be found under the Peterson branding, but using the Dunhill name ie Royal Yacht etc.
