Founded in 2008 by Manuel Quesada and the legendary Nestor Plasencia. Between them they created the Casa Magna Colorado in Plasencia’s Segovia Cigar factory, a cigar that went on to win Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year in 2008.
Manuels initial foray into cigars was way back in the mid 1970’s and his creations then, leant more towards lighter bodied smokes. These blends were eminently enjoyable, focusing as they did on Connecticut wrappers.
Things changed however when he met Nestor who helped Manuel to create a new, full-bodied blend. The rest as they say is history. Winning ‘Cigar Of The Year’ in 2008 helped to propel Casa Magna into hearts and minds of cigar smokers around the world.
